Default '73 Interior Windshield Pillar trim

Recently took apart most of the dash and related trim on my '73 to get to the speakers. Speaker replacement was successful but having some difficulty reinstalling the windshield pillar trip. I forgot to take "pre"pics . The edge of the trim looks like it should fit in a groove between the weather molding and the metal frame but it wont go so I'm not sure if it it doesnt go and just lays up against the frame. Anyone with a '73 if you could post of pic of the windshield pilar trim (best angle would be with door open and straight at the windshild pilar showing the rubber molding and the interior pilar trim I would be very appreciative.
Thanks
Al

Here is a picture of my original window pillar trim in place. You can see the groove you are talking about if you look closely. When I installed my new window pillar trim that groove still shows. Correct or not? Not sure but it seems like it was the only way it was going to fit.
