Default Rear End noise

So I finally dialed in the accellerator pump adjustment, now I have smooth throttle response. So I decided to test it out and feel some "Gs" making some fast/quick turns. But when I do that I hear a noise when I turn sharp to the left, like something is shifting and hitting a stop of some sort.

The rear components on this 72 LT1 are original. Where/what to start looking for wearing parts (bushing)? Thankyou

Put it on a lift , visually inspection. See if anything looks obvious wrong.

If you don't know when or if it was done , first thing I'd do is drain the posi traction diff fluid . Put in new GM fluid and the GM additive pkg. stuff will be about 100.00 in fluids .....use only GM !

The post interaction diff clutch plates will bind and make the noise you describe only when turning , and it can be intermittent and get worse over time. The special lubricant has lost it's ability to do its job , broken down with age.

Thank you! I will definitely look it over this weekend. As far as the diff fluid, I fludhed out the rear diff when I first got the car about 10K mile ago. I did use M1 fluid and the LSD additive.

after you do that go to a parking lot and some figure 8's this works the fluid into posi clutches on both sides.
