On original panels, the upper metal support was stapled to the pressboard. Then the vinyl was added and the felt covered the edge.
On reproduction panels either from CA or AK (and we carry both), both have abs backing with metal upper supports and felts.
Exact 100 % reproduction panels with pressboard backing is available as well but they are not on our site at the moment. They add over 300 dollars to the cost.

Thanks for the reply. I am still wasting time in a useless meeting and cant call just yet.
However I am asking about the little metal L shaped mounting tabs that holds the panel to the door.

There never was a L shaped mounting tab on a door panel from 1969-1982. The upper support was metal and hooked over metal fingers at the rear and front of the door in the actual door. I can't take pictures of them right now, but I can tomorrow if you'd like to see them.
The panels are pretty much spot on in regards to how they are made with the only difference being the ABS backing and not press board. To me, I like the ABS backing, they last longer.

these are what I refer to. my OEM panels have them.
it was about an hour or so ago. look up the order for neal goggins. that will have a timestamp i suppose
if it helps, the original error said "transaction declined" but it wasnt related to my credit card. then when I tried correcting it said it was a duplicate transaction. Andrew said he couldnt locate an order.
We thought it might have been due to I didnt use the links in the discount forum message but when I did it gave me the same error.
