Default red - the fastest color?

wow, very nice!

i spent 3 years looking for my C3, i wanted a perfect frame, birdcage and body with low miles. mine was a barn find and had sat a little, so i replaced the calipers and pads (napa stuff, $95 per wheel total) and stripped the interior to re-wrapped some wiring insulation that mice had chewed off, then new carpets. after that it's been fiddely little things and going to car shows - much fun.

am in vt on the ny border - where you is?

Looks to be in very nice condition aside from some mechanical needs. I drove a 1979 L-82 for 17 years. You will enjoy it.

Congrats on getting your new vette revnck, once the pic opened up it was like i was looking at my own vette, as i have just imported the exact same car (colour/model/year) into Australia and i have a few things that need doing before i can get it on the road, but it is a challange i am looking forward too. The plate you have on the front of your car, (corvette plate, number plate) are they available to buy anywhere, as i would like one for my own vette. Enjoy your new toy and have fun, because its twin sister here in Australia will be enjoyed by me.

That is awesome my friend from afar! I also look forward to the challenge. I have wanted a Corvette since I was a little kid. I was 13 when this one was built Best of luck/fun with your 79!

Default My '79

When I purchased my '79 one year ago the driver's door would not open from the outside. The coiled spring right under the outside door latch was broken.
Mine is red on red leather. Enjoy. I certainly do.

Do you know how rare that houndstooth cloth interior is? I had it in my 1979 but went to leather. Tried to switch back at one point but no dice. That cloth is not being reproduced.

Looks like your co-pilot is pretty stoked about your purchase. That will make it all worth while, congratulations.

P.S That cloth can be purchased through a non-supporting vendor. Anyone wants the info, just send me a P.M.

I love the car guys, thanks for the kind words! Now it is time to pour over these forums and Youtube. I need to get the drivers side window working, and the headlight covers working. Not sure where to start on either, I will be educated quick on these subjects!
