1976 door panel help

1976 door panel help

Needing help with the door panel and installing a new door handle. I can't open the door only from the other side of the car internally

Ok. I have read that three times and I still don't understand what your asking. I get that you are iinstalling a door handle. Is it the inside or outside one? If you make your questions clearer there are a lot of knowledgeable folks on here.

Drivers side or passenger side?
I currently have my driver side panel off and can take pics of everything if you need them. Im planning on reinstalling my lock rods this weekend.

Ok sorry for not being clear. I have the driver side interior door panel off. The exterior door handle has a spring assembly and I believe the spring is broken. When opening the door from the outside of the car nothing happens ( once you push or clamp down on the exterior door handle) sooo i was thinking about fixing the spring or just buying a whole new assembly.... I have not priced anything out or looked around I was hoping to just fix it with a new spring...IDK
