Default brake lights

1980 corvette, all rear lights work except brake lights. went to switch,replaced switch with new cruise disconnect/brake light switch.
No help. checked fuses, checked bulbs. all good. HELP!!

okay...the brake light bulb filiment is the same as the rear turn and hazards,
The turn signal switch is the "brain" that allows things to be brake lights and or a turn lamp or hazards,
It's not the bulbs and stop/brake lamp and hazard share a fuse.
I assume when you said all work they work both turn and hazard, just no brake lights and since you say you replaced the brake switch did you get a test light or voltage meter and are sure volts is getting to the brake light switch and out of it?
I do not believe that power is getting from the brake switch to the lamps....

Default brake lights 1980

Thank you. After further testing, I found that the hazards didn't work.
I had power to the switch on the pedal but it didn't go anywhere.

I finally came up with a wiring digram and found everything going to the directional switch. Will get into this discovery and possibility a fix.
