My wife and I had the opportunity to spend the day at the auction! Saw a lot of beautiful cars cross the block. But the highlight for me were the 8,thats right 8 1958 Fuelie cars sell all back to back to back! They brought well over a million bucks and they all sold.
I too watched for a couple hours last night. I tuned in just in time to see all 8 '58s go across the block. I struggled to choose a favorite of the group, however, I have to say the gold one, although special and 1 of 1, was my least favorite. Am I remembering right that the Top Flight '69 L88 was a "no sale" at $500k?
I think the group of cars that went across last night was perhaps the very best collection of cars that I've ever seen go across Mecum's stage at one auction. How about that Fathom Green '69 Chevelle?. How about the 1971 Buick GS convertible and the red 442 convertible, each fetching $130,000???
