Due to funds I am trying to use a turbo 350 from a 78 corvette 350ci and put it behind a 454 bbc. The motor is rebuilt and I just want to use the turbo 350 to break the engine in . My problem is the torque converter does not line up with the 454 flex plate, I don't know how to measure the bolt pattern, so I don't know the direction I should go. next year I will put a turbo400. Can anyone help. The car is a 78 vette.

Looking for a simple solution, have you tried turning the flex plate to the next set of holes? There are extra holes in the flex plate and sometimes you need to try a few times to get the correct set of three holes to line up with the converter holes.
Turning the flex plate can be a chore, so remove the spark plugs and use the flex plate tool to turn it. The tool is sold at most part suppliers and might even be available as a loaner tool. The cost is around $20. This is likely your problem, as the 350 should bolt right up to your 454. BTW...you can also use a block of wood and screwdriver to turn the flex plate, but plan of skinned knuckles and cuss words to follow.
