Default Replacement Radio Question

I have been considering installing a replacement radio for the C3. Can any of these new radios utilize the existing stock antenna and plug-in connector?

I installed a RetroSound RC-900C Classic Radio Version Two last summer in my '71 and I used the original antenna and plug-in connector.

I sent my radio out to have it restored, works great now, even could have had a jack installed.

Thanks. I went to the website and took a look at the manual. I didn't want to run a new antenna wire so now I am more inclined to upgrade the radio. My existing stock radio works but the volume is weak so it is probably ready for repair.

For the cost differential, I would rather purchase a modern radio. So I will put this on my to-do list...that is after I install a new AC controller module next week, repair the shifter console, repair some interior fastener holes, re-wrap engine compartment wires, and....whatever additional surprises I uncover.

I went with an Antique Automobile Radio. 4 channels, used all stock hookups, ipod jack on the back. So far so good.

Thanks for another good reference. Will search the internet for a copy of the install manual.

I pulled the radio today, it wasn't a pretty picture behind the panel...the stock radio cables looked okay, but the gauge cluster wiring is a bowl of spaghetti. I tie-wrapped what I could but it is still a mess. Regardless of radio, it looks like I'll have to replace the speakers so I will take a look at what I have to work with later.

With regards to "Retro Sound" radio.... Be careful. I hate to knock anything but I think you should hear this. I just installed a Retro Sound Model Two radio in my 68. Model Two is the best radio they offer. I also installed their Quad 4 amp. Used their 4x6 speakers in the kick panels and their 6x9 speakers in their Retro Pods on the back wall of the cargo area. I am very very dissapointed in this system!! Sound quality is horrible !! Sub standard for all the money and time I spent on this system. If your car is a convertible forget about ever seeing the LED display on the head unit!! I have to pull over and stop the car then cup my hands around the head unit to see the display and not much better with the top up !! Radio reception is horrible. I replaced my antenna with THEIR antenna and still horrible reception. It is installed well. I even brought the car to a local auto audio shop for them to look at it and go over my installation. It is installed well they said they couldn't have done a better install. The audio shop was even surprised with how bad this system sounded !! I replaced the 4x6 speakers I bought from Retro Sound and installed a good set of Polk round slims in the kicks. A little better sound but still sub standard !! Like I said, I don't like to knock others equipment but I don't want anybody to be as dissapointed after so much money and time as I am. I will be replacing this entire system next winter.....In my very honest opinion Stay away from Retro Sound !! Hope this helps. Tom.
