Temperature Control Cable Issue
On my 77 when I put the temperature selector lever to the Cold position and let it go, it slowly creeps toward the hot side. It doesn't go all the way to hot of course but enough that the water shut off valve comes on and lets the hot coolant through the heater core. I took the dash apart and checked out the water shut off vacuum switch and it appears the spring in the switch is pushing the lever back to the hot position. How do you keep this from happening? How does one add "friction" to the cable to keep the spring from moving the cable to the hot position? It gets warm enough in these cars as it is! Thanks
