This week end
It may not be the right spot to post this but I just want to say thanks for all the vets out here tonight.
My dad spent the next few days many years ago getting ready for Dday. Can't imagine what that was like. He made it thru Dday and the battle across Europe as a .30 cal machine gunner.
Never talked about till the very end of his days. Offered to take him over to France on the 50th of Dday. He looked me straight in the eye and said he never has a day he doesn't think about it.
I was in the army from 76 till 79 as an MP. Funny how the M60 was my weapon of choice for me. .30 cal must run in the family.
Thanks again for all the vets and active duty.
