L71 Engine oil suggestions.
It's oil change time. Curious to know what oil others are using. I've been running Valvoline VR1 20W-50 racing oil in my soilid lifter L71 427. How bout you guys ??? Tom.

same motor, but I just use regular oil. 10w30. the PO used it since motor was rebuilt in 1995, so it's apparently doing it's job...although the solid factory cam was replaced with a mechanical roller cam with as close to factory specs as possible when it was rebuilt.

I've been running Shell Rotella 15W 40 in all my older Corvettes both big block and small blocks for many years with no issues.
