Gauge bezel removal

Hey everyone, first post on this forum!!

Anyway, I recently bought my first c3 (1976). Going to start restoring/fixing little things before i get to carried away. I am going to put an aftermarket radio in and want to remove the gauge bezel. The part with the guages and the part where the windshield wipers are looks like they are two different parts. Do i have to take both parts out or just the one and is it just the screws on the side holding it?

The gauge bezel is one piece all the way from radio up to the top, then there is a separate piece inside that hold the wiper switch

The part that goes up around the wiper switch is frequently broken since it's very very thin just above the gauge area

There are two studs that come out the bottom and two nuts that you need to get at from underneath the shift console. PIA to get to

Then the side screws you saw, one at the top I believe

Search for gauge bezel removal and there are several people giving tips on how to get that out
