Rear Diff

Just bought an 81 with a completely rebuilt 350 and 700R4 tranny with overdrive. I want to change the gear ration to 3:73 or 4:11 but need to know what they came with out of the factory and what i need to make the jump. I was told it has 3:08 but that isn't confirmed and need to know if it came with a Dana 44 axle. Any help for this newbie is appreciated!!!

automatic came with a 2.87, manual with a 2.72 but you should check it first by counting the number of drive shaft revolutions with one rear wheel revolution and it is a type of Dana 44
