BBC genV gurus'
Did all Gen V come with the cam retaining plate?
I have a 454 gen 5 with a solid lifer cam in it right now, I'm wanting to swap it out for a roller cam and trying to figure if I will need a retro cam and use a cam button. Or can I go with a roller cam made for the gen 5/6 and use stock rollers with a spider cage.
I know I could just look, but the motor is still together in my boat
Thanks.

According to Wikipedia the Mark V blocks all have a camshaft thrust plate that is made for roller cams.
