So I finished the restoration of my 69 small block 4-speed about a year ago. I have been going to the local shows and having fun driving it but i got a call from a high school buddy. He says "Hey lets take the cars down to Irwindale speedway for the Thursday night run what what to brung". The track is closing this year they are going to build another another shopping mall. So tonight is the night, my first time drag racing wish me luck. I hope I don't break the vette my wife would be pissed. lol
Just so you know it's not a bracket race it's just for fun.
All the luck to you. I recently installed a new crate motor and as soon as it gets "broken in" I am headed to do the same thing.
Let us know how you did!

Good luck and report back to us. (You might want to put it in Tech/Performance).
9.80 at a blistering 72mph! But not to bad for a pretty much stock car and a first time driver. I had a great time. I got four passes before I had to leave the track (have to work super early in the morning).
Ah I remember it like it was yesterday. Back in the late 60's Islip speedway on Long Island NY was the place to be on a Friday night or Sunday. Running under the lights was one cool way to race and good times were had by all.
