Default rims

Just purchased a 79 with an extra set of rims. Can't make up my mind if I should put them back on. What are the originals worth and which do you like best?

Decide what you like and go with it.
I am not a fan of chrome smoothies on a Vette. On top of that, they rust. I am more of a fan of aluminum rims, not steel.
For me, I would sell both sets and buy some 18" rims that I could find some decent rubber for, - do what you like.

I generally like original. Kept my 89 that way but I may sell the 79 if I get a decent offer. In the mean time having a good time working on it. Thanks for the reply.

If you're thinking of selling it put the factory aluminum wheels on. The car is much more desirable with those as opposed to the chrome smoothies.

I would like to buy those. How much do you want? I'm in Cincinnati and am going to Bloomington Gold at the Indy speedway June 25, 26, 27.

For a sale value, check the Parts For Sale section to see if any are listed or review eBay sales. Original YJ8 wheels were made by Kelsey-Hayes. Service replacement and reproduction YJ8s were/are made by Western.

I would keep the YJ8s, but that's only my personal preference. Which set you choose is your decision.

I'd buff wheel polish the slots and put them back on.
