Default Where did you start? Interior

So with most of the things under the hood done, I think its time to have my interior looking good. There are a few pieces that I will be able to spare which is nice on the wallet! My question is in which order should I restore/upgrade these to avoid back tracking etc etc

The list in no particular order
  • New gauge bezel with aftermarket stereo installed
  • Connect vent openers (where do the plastic tabs need to be placed?)
  • Vent/heater wheels are grinding on shifter links (any ideas?)
  • Two plastic covers on the left and right of the center console need to be applied (I feel like these are hard to get perfectly flush?)
  • Maybe clean up the carpet in the back (Can this be done without ripping everything out?
  • Repaint shifter console vinyl
  • Get windows to seal properly (does anyone have pictures of theirs sealing up nice? Mine done even seem to push into the t-top weather stripping all the way so I feel like I need to raise them?)
  • T-Tops rattling

...Where did you start?...
With the AIM. I spent several early Saturday and Sunday mornings sipping coffee and thumbing through the interior section of the AIM comparing what I found on my car with what the AIM said should be there and getting an overall idea of what I was going to be getting into.

I started with wanting to change my seats. Once I had them out, found the mounting holes were stripped. I all went fast from there. I ended up removing the interior completely. Found holes in the back wall for speakers. Lights in the dash didn't work, etc.

I left the dash in until I reviewed every video I could find.

Changed all my bulbs to LED, cut the stereo console to allow a new deck. Ran all new wiring for power and speakers. Made plates to mount speakers in the kicks. Changed the front speakers to Kickers. Repaired the back wall and then installed a false wall on the back to mount amps. Dunked every rust bolt in Evap-Rust and then painted them before putting them back in with Anti-seaze (sp?). Dunked the seat tracks in Evapo-rust also. painted and greased them up.

I installed heat shield on all surfaces. I use the cheap stuff from Blows in the Furnace department.

It just goes on and on, after a few weeks, I made a decision to just go for it. Glad I did, even though the car was off the road for a few months
