Default Cinnabar interior colour questions

I was looking at an ad for an 81 and the interior colour was listed as cinnabar (see pic). The Corvette Black Book makes no reference to this colour. Mid America sells interior kits in this colour for 79-82.

Was this a factory interior colour?
What exterior colours were required (car in question is black)?
What interior code should be on the trim tag?

Thanks

Medium Cinnabar was available in 81 with the following codes....
Cloth 67C
Leather 672 and both were recommended w/Black

Mahogany Metallic, Classic White, Frost Beige, Red/Dark Claret, were other colors recommended, and was available w/Silver/Charcoal....

Hope this helps........Tom

Cinnabar was a Bowling Green color code. St. Louis continued to use red for the cars assembled there.

Default Cinnabar Interior Question.

My dads 81 is Mahogany Metallic with what looks to be Cinnabar interior. The paint and interior have some serious sun damage and I was curious how well the color holds up in the CA sun. We will protect it the best we can once we replace both paint and interior but how well does the cinnabar weather as far as fading? Has anyone had experience good or bad with replacement interior in Cinnabar?

I have an 81 white with cinnabar interior. The seats have held their color well but the door panels and rear cargo area carpet have not. Everytime I take the arm rests off I see the original color and it is night and day. It fades to a light orange color.

Nifty color!

Willcox Corvette sells complete carpet sets, to include the trim pieces along the center console, kickpanels, and seatbacks.

I'd try them first, perhaps they can find some leavings if you need the pieces at the bottom of the door panels. Otherwise, I believe ACC makes their carpets, and can presumably source the material.

I am sorry I can't help. I have that exact same interior in my '81. It is quite sharp. If you find the fabric, please share with the forum. It might be handy someday.
