Default Air conditioner issue

Hello, I have a 78 vet and I'm having an issue with the air conditioner. When I select ac the air only comes out by my feet and it's not a whole lot of air. I do have good flow to the fire wall. Any suggestions! Thanks

I had the same problem with my '71 when I got it. The problem was the 7-hose vacuum plug that plugs onto the vacuum selector was just worn out and not sealing. I cut the hoses off one at a time and plugged them directly onto the selector in the correct order and that did the trick. But I also made a diagram showing where each color-coded hose went and kept the diagram under my shifter plate for future access.

Could you please tell me where the vacuum selector is located. I looked in my manual and search the web but I don't know where it is. Thanks

On my 70, the cold air plenum was about 1/3 full of leaves and debris. This is a common problem. This is probably not the singular solution to your problem, but it's very likely a contributor.

Different systems. The 78 did not use the 7 hose vac system, it has a standard cable push pull system.
