So I'm sure I'm looking at this wrong in the AIM and the solution is right there, but how is it possible to pass the pre made rear e-brake cable through the frame cross member? Does anyone have pics they can post, I just don't remember how this went together.
It passes under the frame as Mooser said. The AIM on my 73 shows
the same diagram you have, but it doesn't pass through the frame.
It really favors the first diagram you have, but not like view A.
This is the only photo I have that shows how mine went under
the trailing arm to the next bracket.
Dave, are you planning on putting fatter tires on the back? If you are now is the time to move that bracket to the top of the trailing arm.
I moved mine just in case when I was looking at tires.
If you need to see it in person, my car is up on my ramps right now and you can really see it for yourself.
Ken
Thanks Ken, right now just trying to get the car back together so I can shake it down before body work this winter. So the body will be coming back off in the fall ... that is of course if it ever gets back on! LOL Trying to at least make it to Auto Fest.
... and why are you on ramps when you should be driving?
Dave
Lol, Found a wire hanging the last time out. Was a connector on the tranny that had fallen out. I also needed to top up the Differential because it leaks. Just haven't taken it off the ramps since then. I really want to get my seats done before swapping out the rear gears. My 3.36's are slowing me down.
Installed a Pertronix III and a new coil. Damn bolt broke on the coil mount. Need to pull that out because BUBBA used steal bolts instead of SS. He also welded a bracked on it instead of spending the 11.00 to get a new one...so it's been bouncing around.
I need to get your address again so I can 'drop bye' with the car...just to give you more incentive.
