I decided while I had the engine out for a 383 swap, I might as well do the R&P setup and hydroboost brakes.
It works fine ... but I dont know how to weld. I mocked up the mounting brackets in cardboard and figured out all the dimensions for everything. I made the brackets by bending 1/4 steel and putting everything together with grade 8 bolts. It looks like a horrible bubba job. Thankfully I didnt make any permanent modifications. I will probably go with a real R&P kit in the future.
Im under the car about once a week for the past 6 months and none of the nuts have loosened up at all.
I installed front and rear 80s bumpers on my 77. I hate the front but love the rear. I plan on cutting off the front and going back to a fiberglass stock bumper.
From the front view the car looks great but the profile is gross.

In my teens through mid 30's, I did some pretty crazy things to my cars. Now I'm in my 50's and a total purest. I just think Corvette's look best the way they were originally designed.

If I agreed with that my life would be so much easier but gm didnt do it so I have to....
Installed a SBC crate motor instead of a BBC. The SBC runs fine, just like big blocks better.
Poly bushings in the rear control arms. Looking for possible replacements now. Didn't really notice anything wrong with them until I started taking my car to the track. The stick-slip of the poly is really annoying under hard turns.
Installing an aftermarket radio years ago. Finally decided to put a factory style radio back in since the acoustics suck in these cars anyway. Never could get the radio to sound like anything even with good quality components. If it won't sound nice, might as well look good.
