Default Steering Control Valve Help

I'm trying to disassemble the power steering control valve. I am down to the point where I remove the ball stud. I have the first cup out, but the sleeve inside is blocking the hole where the ball stud needs to come out. It's like the sleeve needs to be pushed down a little bit, but it seems to be bottomed out and won't move any farther. Any ideas?

If the chamber behind the sleeve is packed with to much grease it could prevent the sleeve from being pushed down. Try removeing the zerk fitting to allow the grease to escape while pushing the sleeve down.

I finally figured out that the housing for the sleeve had a small indention which was causing the sleeve to hang up and not move like it should. I'm assuming this is damage from when it was wrecked. Good thing I'm going through these parts in detail. Some of this damage I would probably never find otherwise and wouldn't be able to figure out the problem later. Can't rebuild this one. New valve is on the way.
