One shot isn't going to tell the whole story. And you need to put some sort of price as per forum rules. At least put a starting number.. you can always change later.

That's nothing if there's isn't significant rust elsewhere on the car.

Sales forum section needs a price. And for a generic '75 you're about $5K too high, IMHO.

Yep, just reiterating since Derek thought he was posting in the general section.

Since he says its not for sale yet, it will go in the General section.

And that way I dont have to sanction the price criticism in a Sales Thread, AKA Interference.

40 year old metal usually shows a bit of rust. That looks pretty good.

Now why would you hope there's more?

You could try County Corvette in West Chester, PA. They might be able to do an inspection/what they think it's worth...not sure how much it would cost you though.

Really???

A straight 1975 in decent shape and under 100k miles for $5k? Tell me where I can find 10 of them...

$8k-$10k is the low end of what people are asking for a car like that around here. And as far as I can tell they aren't getting talked down a lot from that. Most actually are asking in the $10k-$12k range, although I expect that the lower range is where cash talks to. An L82 or a four speed or a convertible they are asking more for... Anything C3 that is very much below $8k generally has some big issues.

Since we don't know it's in decent shape, I only offered my opinion. You certainly don't have to agree with it. In the Phila area, there are at least 5 in that price range and in that age bracket. Location is everything. Troll CL to find the wide spectrum of prices in your area and others...

The OP describes it as 66k all original, not needing paint or interior. Based on that its in very good condition.

Based on the description it sounded like it is in decent condition... I search CL within 200 miles of here pretty much daily. Any $5k C3s around here have issues according to the ads. For that matter even early C4s which are generally the cheapest Vettes you can find these days that is true of. Anything under $5k is going to have a ton of miles and/or issues. I just checked Philly CL... does seem like prices there are cheaper than around here... but I didn't see any $5k C3s. A few C4s with issues down there and more C3s in the $7k-$8k range than I'd expect... You just don't see many around here that cheap.

Well... I'm not going to argue pricing with anyone. There are plenty within that $5-8K range around here, some under 100K miles:
http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/5131465536.html
http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/5078483813.html
http://reading.craigslist.org/cto/5113113869.html
http://allentown.craigslist.org/cto/5127994083.html (yes, just over 100K, but just sayin')
http://scranton.craigslist.org/cto/5130423246.html
http://easternshore.craigslist.org/cto/5071009230.html
http://jerseyshore.craigslist.org/cto/5101291010.html

And I'm sure there are more that I didn't find in my metro areas. Of course, not all of these are pristine, but the OP hasn't offered up any more information or photos to his initial post, either. So all of this is speculation until that happens. Of course, an asking price is just that... I'm sure many of the cars can be bought for less than what the listing is for.

If you're not going to take the OP's description of the car as in pretty good shape and call it speculation then it is even more speculative for you to assume its in poor shape and worth 5K. If in your opinion we can't know the condition of the car then there is no basis for you to say its worth 5K. When the OP asked "what's it worth" the apropriate response from you should have been "I don't know".
