Default 68 gauge bezel

Has anyone bought a repro 68 only(smooth finish) center gauges bezel that can speak to its quality/fit. Mine is broken in 3 places and since I took it apart today to replace the fiber optic cables was thinking about buying one but don't want to spend the $240.00 if its doesn't fit right. Thanks in advance.

The overall quality/fit is actually pretty good, on par with the original, the problem is the mounting lugs for the wiper switch/Corvette name panel to screw into is cast in the wrong location. It is about 1/4 inch to far back. The originals have no gap. The mounting screws won't line up with the cast holes unless you do some rework.

I've attached a picture to highlight the problem area.

John,
Thanks for the heads up. Is there enough "meat" on the new bezel to drill new holes?

I haven't done the rework to mine yet, but it looks like it should be OK. The screws they use in this location are plenty long to cover the gap, the problem I see is the new holes you will need to drill will be near the edge of the existing hole in the wrong position. It could make it difficult to drill.
