I kept a search going on the Bay and although I didn't find the cragar set, I found a set of genuine GM made just like the Cragar still new in the box from back in the day and got them for less than what the new crap ones sell for today. Haven't got them on though. Maybe before cruising season here. Just have to be patient.

Werent the gm lovers a dealer item and actually the cragar item without the cragar badge just a blank recess where the badge went?
I will take your word for that because your description is spot on. I couldn't find any info online about the GMs and I know you know a lot more of Vette history than I do because I was still a Ford guy way back then lol! I couldn't find Cragar on them anywhere and the box was labeled GM with the GM part number. I wondered how the GM looked so much like the Cragarsame. Thanks for the info Man!

Its not so much i know "corvette" history..i dont claim to, i just loved the custom junk so i learned it that way...perhaps i know custom trivia.....but you will really love these on your car, i wouldnt own a bubble butt without them...
At some time in the past, my 79 must have had louvers on it. The back window is permanently stained in the outline of louvers. My car came originally from Texas so i'm sure there was plenty of hot sun beating down on it. I've had a glass shop look at the stains and they said they couldn't get them out.
Not to hijack this thread but I have a set of Cragar ones that were on my 81. I'd be interested in selling them. I don't know what they are worth?? PM Me.
So a few members have gotten in touch with me about the cagar louvers I have. Like I said I'd sell them but does anyone have a few suggestions on how I could go about shipping them? Build a box and fed-ex seems $$$$. Thanks for the help!

If I remember correctly(getting tough at this age) those louvers do come apart. The sides, I think, pull out of the center section. If they do, that may make it easier to ship.
I definitely like the look of the louvers. Makes your car look really great. I've never been a fan of that big bubble window and the louver really changes the whole look of the car.
