I have an indoor/ outdoor Wolf branded car cover. Looks to be made by Covercraft.
When new, it was great. I had it outside for several months at a time in rain, snow, sun, etc. It has held up just fine to the elements, and is nice and soft, so no worries on the paint.
That said, While storing it many years ago had mice make nests in it, and use the car cover as nesting material. When I retrieved it and shook it out, it had some unfortunate holes. I then proceeded to wash it to get the mousiness out of it, and after washing I stuck it in the dryer for some unknown reason. The size of the cover caused it to get stuck, and the heat from the dryer melted some areas of the material, turning them somewhat hard and a bit brittle.
ALL THAT SAID, I still use it as my car cover, and it still performs great after 13 years. I keep my car indoors now, so I don't need it as much, but it's a good investment. Just don't put it in the dryer. Or let mice live in it.
Another vote for Wolf by Carcraft. I had one for the last 7 years, it spent a lot of time outside in everything from 120F to sub zero blizzards. Admittedly after being in storage for the last 4 years, it was so filthy and I failed to wash it to my standards, so I tossed it and just ordered a new one for indoor use. I could have probably salvaged it with a lot of effort, but decided it wasn't worth it. In the end, I got 7 years of solid abuse out of $160, totally worth it.
