I really like your technique for trimming the tape. I have never tried it but see myself using it in the future. Thanks!

Looks vey good . When I refurbished my shift plate I Painted the plate and chrome and then scraped the paint off the chrome, wish I had thought of your idea.
Krylon offers a "leafing pen" in silver. It works like a magic marker and is very good to touch up nicks and gouges in the silver line around the console. It adheres well and there is no noticeable color difference in the silver colors.
