AC Question
My AC hasn't been used for years.. (lots of years) and it is open .. so exposed to the atmosphere.
I am going to replace the evaporator and the blower motor because the engine is now out and after the engine is in they will be very difficult to replace (for me anyway)
I am also going to replace the dryer because it is r12 compatable and I'm thinking I should move over to using R134.
Should I also replace the expansion valve and the POA valve?
Compressor may be OK.. not sure. I am going to try to use it as well as the condenser .. (although I've read where the condenser should be larger for R134.
Need your opinion .. I am an AC caveman.
Thanks

The hoses should also be replaced as I be amazed if they weren't toast. We're it me, I'd also replace the compressor as they're not that expensive. The condenser I'd stay with but would give it a good flushing. GM made good condensers back then. I would not replace the blower motor if it works.
If you don't have the budget, you could stay with both valves as it's possible that one are both are okay. I'd personally would just replace them. Keep in mind that if the job is done right, you'll have years of a trouble free a/c system. Good luck.
