Default New AC Harness Installation

1969 corvette L46 with air

My engine is out.. old AC harness is still in the car.. (burn scars and all)

Here's my plan..please critique..because I'm not sure if this is the best way to go.

1. Disassemble the dash to get access to the ac harness connections.

2. Replace the connections from the older harness with the connections from the new harness under the dash.

3. Pull the old harness through the firewall into the engine compartment and trash it.

4. Pull the new harness through the firewall into the engine compartment and reconnect after engine is in.

Thanks for your help with this.

Sounds like you have a plan that will work. It's pretty much plug and play with this harness (and most harness's are). If memory serves me correct you can only put the harness in from the inside due to the configuration of the firewall grommet so you'll have to pull the old one out from inside.

I'd pull the right dash pad, the center dash bezel, shift plate and console. If you need help with this I've got a page at this link that will walk you through it. To view the pdf just click on supporting document.
