Default two more Bubba problems fixed

Finally received the correct 5/8 in bolts for the brake calipers. Not sure where Bubba got the ones on the car- they are neither metric nor English (almost 11/16 and almost 17 mm) and have such a thin head that even a six point socket slipped. Also fixed the glassed-over backup lights (Bubba had none) by cutting away the glass to reveal the sockets underneath. Minor body work, paint, new lens and gasket and voila! backup lights. Note the vintage 1968 Virginia plate that VA DMV allows for antique vehicles.

Yes, that is a real Bubba back fascia. Wonder why they want to get rid of the back up lights? Did Bubba put the steel bumper plate behind the fiberglass or just add the back panel?

Hope I do not have one of those Bubba fixes. Cut/missing wires and incorrect/missing fasteners is enough. I didn't know Bubba knew how to use super glue without gluing his hand fast to the Vette. RA

My count on Bubba fixes increased again today. Going along with the glassed-over backup lights was the missing wiring and missing backup switch. I have the new switch, but could not find where the wiring tied into the harness. It seemed logical it would be under the car near the transmission, but no. I finally saw on the installation manual there was a wire and grommet coming thru the firewall at the angle where the foot well is for the brake and gas pedals. A little difficult to find on the car, but that indicated the wiring tied into the harness IN the car, not under the car. Since I already had the dash apart tracing the wiring for the windshield wipers, it only took a couple minutes to find the green and pink wires all coiled up and pushed up in the back of the dash. Plug was cut off, of course, but jumping the wires lit up the backup lights. Take that, Bubba. RA
