Default Problems from diff sitting for long period?

I have found a rear diff that looks to be what I am looking for. It is brand new and never installed, but has been sitting, with diff fluid, for approximately two years. Is there any potential problems with that? I would obviously change out the fluid prior to install.

Thanks
Brad

The only real problem is moisture. If you live in a high humidity location, moisture can get in and cause corrosion on the bearings. I just bought myself a freshly rebuilt rearend and when I got it there was alot of sawdust chips inside (from sitting under the bench.) While cleaning it out, (with the ring gear removed), I noticed the corrosion on the bearing rollers and this lead to a total rebuild.....an enjoyable experience for me

If the rear cover is on you should be fine, but if not beware...

Thanks sstocker31. The seller said we could open it up when I got up there. I will do that for sure and see what I can see.

Cheers
