PO put in a toggle switch and taped it to the steering column to operate the horn. I'm trying to remove it and repair the horn the way it should be.
I traced one wire that went behind the kick panel and is grounded to the speaker, the other wire goes up behind the dash and I can't figure out where it goes. Were these two wires pulled out of the column ? or were they added to make the horn work ? See pic
Update: found the second wire, it goes through the firewall to the horn relay, it looks newer (shiny) than the rest of the wires, this can't be factory correct ?

It only takes one wire to blow the horn. The one that goes to the horn relay and it should be black. When you press the horn button it grounds that black wire which energizes the horn relay and the horn blows. I think you'll find that the other side on that switch runs to ground (as you said, on the speaker mount perhaps). All you need to do to fix the horn is put the proper components under the horn button and connect a wire from the wire off your aftermarket switch that goes to the horn relay to the horn contact under the cap. Eliminate that toggle switch entirely. The black wire that is supposed to be in your column may still be there. It goes directly from the spring loaded horn contact to the black wire that you currently have running to the horn relay. I'll see if I can post a picture of the components that should be under the horn button cap.
