I'm looking for a front bumper reinforcement for my 68 coupe. They are easy enough to locate, however, I've seen two different types stating they both work for all chrome bumper C3's? The difference I can see is in the center of them, on the top. One has one hole and the other has two holes. Which one do I need for my car? Thanks, Jason
whats a front bumper reinforcment, there is a center support, or horse collar
that has 2 holes on top.chrome bumpers don't have reinforcments only supports
It's the metal piece that mimics the shape of the front bumper. It mounts behind the fiberglass for reinforcement. The one in the link has one hole. Others I've found have two holes. Just want to get the right one.
Rivets to the lip behind the bumper. This one is from a 70-72 aftermarket clip. I don'think anything attaches to the center hole. I think it's main function is to provide upper grille mount. Here is underside view.
Thanks Derek. Just trying to figure out if those holes matter. Some of the used ones I've seen have two holes. All of the aftermarket ones that I've seen have the one hole. I guess if nothing mounts to those holes it wouldn't matter? Thank you.

I think it is going to come down to when was your car built in 68.
Later cars used the support rod from radiator core support to the piece in question. I'm thinking cars with this rod would have the one hole in the middle for the rod support bolt to pass through.
Early cars used a bracket from the horse collar to the piece in question to support the nose. I don't know for sure and can't check my early 68 right now because I'm traveling, but I believe these cars may have used the 2 hole design.
