I bought a 77 recently and I was looking a buying a car cover and was looking for suggestions from you guys. Either ones that you liked or wish you didn't buy and bought something else. The car will be in the garage and not outside, but looking for something to protect it, keep the dust and stuff off it. Also if you recommend one, where did you buy it and how much?
Sunforger canvas. Paragon. Fits like a glove, thick protective cotton lined, and still looks like a C3 with the cover on. About $350 and would have paid more knowing what I know now. Can't get over the quality and fit.
I tried/returned two other brands before settling. I didn't try the member recommended California Cover - when they offered (at their website) the privilege of charging more if I wanted the version without their over-sized, distracting logo on the cover they didn't make the cut. I felt extorted for not free-advertising for them.
While it is specially treated for outdoor use (their roots are in making traditional higher end boat covers), I would limit it to indoor garage use and buy a poly-type cover for outdoor use.
The only problem is that, since it hugs the car's lines so well, you yearn to drive it more even when you can't due to outside conditions; and I'm actually quite serious.
Bought Corvette America's "Premium Flannel" cover and after getting used to it's weight (after removal) I like it. It just reminded me of that lead vest the dentist puts over your chest when taking X-rays.
BTW are you going to the Moonshine Festival this month, sure miss north GA.

The Corvette America Premium Flannel was the second one that I bought ...and returned due to quality problems. Note the below photo of it on my car in winter storage last year- along with its advertising logo (not as large as the California cover logo, but still not particularly becoming of a C3). Note, the passenger side front fits the car fender perfectly. But, notice that the driver's side does not properly fit. It was loose and droopy on the that side as in the photo. You might think I'm being overly particular but, even though it is light cotton made in China you want something to follow the contours of the C3 and basic craftsmanship. After repeated requests, Corvette America gave me a full refund with an apology, except for the shipping costs which is tough to do with a large cloth item. (You can't reuse the old, vacuum-packed box/bag that they are received in, so you have to customize something that the Post Office will accept). My recommendation is, if you want a little more upscale cover in classic medium tan, paneled and stitched with quality material that looks drop dead gorgeous on the car, go for the "Sunforger" brand canvas (they have other styles, but the super soft marine-grade canvas stood out for C3 application) that should last a lifetime and provide exceptional inside storage protection because of the thicker than average inside cotton lining. $350 was not cheap. But, aside from looking good, if a rake or bike accidently falls against it, I think it would protect the paint. The Sunforger has almost twice the flannel nap compared of the Corvette America (Chinese) one in the below photo. Also, details like the elastic around the bottom is of bungee-cord grade. The Corvette America version (below photo) used a wimpy elastic cord. Even when stored in the garage, the wind/rain can whip up if the garage door is left open in the summer, so I noticed the extra touch. Btw, I can't take credit for finding the Sunforger cover - there were two C3's that had them in the 300-car garage where I store my car in the winter. The Sunforger covers on the handful of different models stood out among the sea of cheap-looking, generic fitting covers when I was shopping for a new cover. (I discretely lifted the side flap on one of them to find the manufacturer tag... thanks C3 brethren in our Lincoln Park, MI winter storage building).
