update:
ended up having a custom parking break cover made. It's fiberglass over the rubber then covered in matching french stitched leather.
Firewall is also done now. I'm also going to have them pull the body and powder coat the frame. At first I was going to just leave it but when you're this far in might as well go all the way. Should have more pics soon.

Just figured I'd revisit and update this...as things go i've change a lot since this project was first started.
all still the same so far...fuel rail covers painted match the exterior but otherwise all the same
Ended up getting mostly a custom interior done by AL Knoch. Leather dash, doors, arm rests, center console, and masonite board wrapped in leather...all custom designed by me. Replacing the plastic interior bits seemed to make sense when possible. New carpet was bought rather than dying the old.
All the same here
decided to upgrade to a vintage air system
Added the custom firewall, a hydroboost, frame off for sandblasting and powder coating, electric headlight conversion, LED bulbs for headlights and tail lights, new horns, and probably more stuff I can't think of at the moment.
I'll probably look to replace the steering wheel and I'm still deciding what rims/tires to go with.

Wilwood 6pot fronts 4pot rears on OEM rotors
URETHANE MOTOR MOUNTS
VHX GAUGES
New WEATHERSTRIPPING
New Radiator
RetroSound ModelTwo Radio
And then just general TLC needed to replace the broken plastic and messed up interior bits.
here are some pics of her before I shipped her off:

Still trying to decide on wheels and tires. May stick with stock may not....
I sort of like this wheel:

but not sure if they make it in a size that will fit.

on 8" wheels you would need a 52mm adapter to bolt on.

Gorgeous car. Only thing I would have done differently is I would have gone back with the SA paint job. Done better of course.
I had one of the last SA's built. Ordered it through the military in Holland (the country).

Thanks Gary! I thought about going with a 2 tone silver paint job but the extra cost made it unjustifiable. It would have been 3-4k extra and that money was better spent elsewhere.

There having been more than 15,000 SAEs produced, tho today I might hesitate before modding a survivor so far beyond recovery as mine has become, I've had no regrets for having joined the dark side long ago.

Burning Brakes
My SA was re-painted red back in the US before we bought it. But, not sure I'd be keen to re do it so differently now.
BUT, I love the colour you have chosen! I like the light interior (ours is Oyster), but the re-done leather on yours looks fab. The only thing I wouldn't have done is put a later rear bumper on it, I just prefer the original style. But a super looking car that's going to look fab when it's all done!
I'm envious!
