Default 1977 with 2 tone interior (ZJ1 code)

Hi folks we're new here. Here is our 1977 L48 with 62,000 miles.

We are the 3rd (or 2nd) owners depending on how you count it: Sold from the original dealer to lady owner, then back to dealer's oldest son, then to us.

We were told this was special ordered with interior override code, from standard blue to blue/white. Any others out there? We're assuming a rarer option for this model year??

Thanks and looking forward to the forum as new members!

Nice interior. Haven't seen that combo before.

Here's my 76 with a Firethorn/White interior.

Default Nice

Nice Jason. So that is what my car looked like in mint condition. My interior was shot when I bought the car. Redoing the interior in doeskin. Never was crazy a about the red/white combo. Yours looks clean and Sharp. Very rare combo???

Have not seen the blue and white combo before. But I like the indigo blue interior enough that if it were mine it would have blue seats and door panels just as a matter of preference, and would store the white one for the next buyers choice as well. When I ordered my 77 new, I do not remember that choice being offered.

Yes! The two-tone interior option was offered in 1976 and 77. The override code was ZP2, a process code while the ZJ1 was the regular option code (RPO) that called out the white seats, headliner and door panel to accompany the blue interior. Interesting enough, 76 did not include the ZJ1 on the trim tag as the factory did in 77.

To this day, Corvette will use an override to confirm with the dealer that this is what the buyer wants before building the unit when the color interior/exterior combination is not a recommended combo.

This past summer I spotted a 76 with the slate gray interior going for survivor at Bloomington Gold.

An older discussion thread has been around since, I believe 2003 and offered various additional incidentals on two tone interiors including the follow sales codes:

The special codes were as follows
AWD2 White/Blue
AWS2 White/Buckskin
AWF2 White/Red
AWM2 White/Smoke Gray
The sales codes do differ from production codes, those that are printed on the buildsheet. Bob Beck was kind enough to share a copy of his buildsheet and I worked out the production codes. But if either of you have a buildsheet, it would be helpful to confirm production codes.

Here's the link to the older thread:

Hope this helps!
