Those are a cool touch. The Clippinger ones from LA and the Nickey ones from Chicago certainly bring back memories of the period. Rather pricey to locate now...
I think its a really cool touch. I looked hard for a couple years for an original frame from Big 4 with no luck, had to take another route. (I know, not a C3)

Great vanity plate. I wonder how many folks "get it"?...
I know...the ideal plate would be the one from the dealer where your corvette was originally delivered!
I called the dealer who originally sold my 69 but they don't do the frames and had not idea where to locate an old one. The parts manager wasn't sure they did them back in the day.
Must admit this is a cool idea. There are quite a few on eBay under "vintage chevy chevrolet license frame", but I couldn't find mine: "JackShaw Chevrolet". I did come up with a Polka LP.

Reason: polka
I had mine on the car at last year's Rte 66 show and a couple guys from the St Louis area (100 miles away) recognized Big 4 as being a long time dealer in the area until the 70s. They loved the frame.
The original, Corvette back-in-the-day, year specific, metal frames are really tough to find these days. It's seen a little wear, since I touched it up two years ago. I lucked out, one day on Ebay.
