Thanks

I believe they are attached by adhesive backing. I would use a heat gun to loosen it then slide a piece of plastic to pry it up.

I'm assuming you mean the emblem on the rear bumper cover and not the one on the fuel door? The emblem on your '77 rear bumper cover is held on by three studs / nuts. You'll need to get your hand up behind the bumper cover and remove the nuts to pull the emblem. There is also a plate between the nuts and the bumper cover, so don't let it whack you on the head when the nuts come off.

The 77 rear bumper emblem is attached with three speed nuts. The speed nuts are hard to get at, as there is an aluminum panel mounted on the top of the rear bumper bar, just behind the emblem. You can try to reach your hand up in there, it can be done, but you also may end up needing to remove the rear bumper cover.

Thanks guys for the quick replies. I want to put a new one on so if I can't get it off there is a body shop 3 miles from my house and I will let them do it.
