1975 battery gauge

1975 battery gauge

My battery gauge needle vibrates back and forth on the plus side at idle and the courtesy lights flicker at idle. I had the alternator checked and it is OK and I have a new battery. What should I do to solve this?

Also make sure the wire on the alternator stud is tight and not wiggling around. If it starts fine you don't have to check the battery wiring, just the wiring for charging. That includes the negative wire from the frame to the motor. You should be able to track this down with a meter.
