Default Torque Thrust TTO 8.5 x 15

Hello as I made my C3 a Christmas present, and got her a new set of Torque Thrust TTO's in 8.5 x 15 that I recieved today from Summit Racing I had to notice that the wheel must have been changed again in the way that the lip is machined compared to what they look like in their catalogue... Here are some Pictures... The lip of my brandnew wheel is not machined all the way to the bottom outer edge of the spoke. In other Pictures of the 8.5 x 15 TTO it is machined all the way to the spoke... Here are two Pictures of my wheel, and the bottom two Pictures with the set of wheels next to each other and the last single wheel Picture, is the way the wheels are advertised at Summit and American Racing with the lip machined all the way to the base of the spoke... They must have just changed this in production. I am not so sure, let me know what you think looks better, all the way machined to the spoke or not?!

LOVE those. That's exactly what I want for our '77. Congrats on getting them.

In regards to the machined portion - is it possible the offset has changed, and that is whats causing a difference?

That would be my guess as well. The distance from the spoke to the machined edge changes depending on the amount of required offset for the vehicle setup. I think it looks fine either way. I kind of like yours better than the reference photo.

I know what you mean, but the backspace hasnt changed, it is
ET - 24 this has been the first Thing I checked with my wheels as I noticed the difference. You can see that my second step of the lip toward the base of the spoke has more or less the same width then the outer first step of the lip. As with the set of wheels at the picknick table the lip is machined a Little bit wider, all the way to the base of the spoke. It is just cosmetic, but I was just not sure which one Looks better...

Did not even notice difference in pics until someone spelled it out, now that I know there is a difference I prefer yours to catalog. Either one looks great imo.

Thank you! I was waiting for your reply, since I ordered my rims after the convincing Pictures of your wheels to me... So I was surprised when I recieved my rims three days ago, that the machined lip of my 8.5 x 15's didnt go all of the way to the bottom of the spoke... Again, mine are brand spankin new (just ordered them two weeks ago), so they must have changed the machining process of the lip width recently. Mine have the same ET than yours. Other than the width of the machined lip, it is the same rim... Again, not sure which lip I like better...

Merry Christmas to Everybody!
