wrapping or dipping
Not exactly easily reversible...
With the wrap...
And after peeling the wrap after i decided it was uncool.
Peeling it off just exposed that i had defects in the older repaint... not a welcome surprise.

As you can see here, a wrap is NOT always reversible! I don't see it as a valid substitute for paint either, as the cost is usually $1-2k. Having removed a wrap from our business Sprinter, I can tell you there can be some problems underneath!
However, I am considering www.dipyourcar.com plasti dip for a 91 Coupe I recently rescued from a friend. The C4 (my first!) has 116k miles, with some minor FE damage. Interior is decent, w the usual driver's seat wear; mechanically the car is good after replacement of battery. Most everything still works on this 25 yr. old Vette!
My point is: I bought the car for a fun project for casual weekend drives. A $3-4,000 paint job just ain't gonna happen, since any sort of future major repair to the engine/4 sp. AT required would result in my having mucho more $$ in the car than it could ever be worth.
I have researched painting the C4 myself on YouTube, where there are some great videos. To do the job correctly, however, it requires special flex type paint for both front & rear PLUS the removal of most body panels for painting.
Enter plasti dip, where NONE of the body panels need to be removed, the prep (no sanding) and cost are far less.
So a DIY plasti dip may be what, $600, where a much more involved DIY paint job may cost $1,600 plus a zillion hours that I just don't have!
Your comments are welcome. Btw, anybody looking for just such a C4 project this winter..............? The more I get into this
the less enthused I am! I shoulda known that C4's are Light Years different than either C3's or C5's!Happy New Year, Rickman
