Default Interior bezels and trim help

I'm hoping to hear from a couple guys who have bought interior pieces, which companies you went with and quality of the items. Any help would be appreciated. I've been searching for the last few days but would love to hear from someone who has done it. My interior is shot, its time to replace all of it! I was also looking at some of the aftermarket gauge clusters, has any one installed any of these? Talk about expensive... Thanks guys!

What year are you working with? There is a lot of good used stuff out there to be found that can be restored (bezels, clusters etc.) What is your intent; are you going driver, show, NCRS? What is your budget? This forum is a plethora of info as well as acquiring parts whether it be new or used. Corvette America tends to be one of the main sources for repop and of decent quality Wilcox is another great source however there is nothing like the original stuff. I restored my car with as much reusable stuff as I could. You would be amazed at how you can make old stuff look good again with a little effort. The internet is a great tool to find stuff (ebay, craigslist, etc.) Good luck. Post pictures of what your working with.

Drewvious-I'm doing most of the interior to get the car to good "driver quality". If you want "show quality", some others on this forum have experience there. The PO did carpet and seats, but mediocre job on the dash and gauges. I have used Eckler's, Willcox, Corvette Central for most stuff. Quality is OK. Some parts are the same, regardless of which distributor you buy from. Order the trim screw assortment for the entire interior. It's about $30 and comes with little plastic bags with the exact type and quantity of screws needed for the entire interior- all labeled where they are supposed to go. I got gauges from Ecklers. Most were Delco GM restoration products. They are somewhat pricey, but if you are going to do all the labor involved to restore the interior, you do not want to be cheap on the gauges. The dash panels, console panels and quarter panels are expensive- for getting molded pieces of plastic that may need to be cut or filed to get a good fit. I used a couple different distributors and the panels were uniformly mediocre (but better than what I had). Hope your wiring is OK. I finally gave up on the butchered wiring harness and bought a new one (Lectric Limited). Quality is good. Good luck putting the interior back in shape. RA

I'm sorry guys, its a 1979 L-82 with doeskin interior. I'm not looking for show quality, I'd just like the interior to look nice for everyday driving.

I'll post some pictures of what the interior looks like when I'm off of work, its not very pretty. The PO put house carpet in the interior and has really messed up a lot of the wiring. Talk about a pain in the ***...

I know Corvette America makes all their own interior parts and carpet sets, but I haven't gotten around to replacing any of my interior yet.

"The PO put house carpet in the interior" Well, I don't feel so bad now. The TR-4 that I drove all thru grad school had white **** carpet installed by the PO of that car. Not real easy to keep clean and looked like crap. Definitely not original equipment, even for a British car. RA

I'm seriously considering black carpet and keeping all of the trim pieces etc the stock doeskin. I don't really like lighter colored carpet, shows dirt too easily.

We carry both Ca and AK interior products. Our carpet sets are made by ACC which is where Ca gets their carpet.
