1979 Corvette interior lights will work off the headlight switch if you turn them on. They will not work if either door is opened? Any ideas???
The bulbs are hot.. waiting for ground.. The ground is supplied by A) the headlamp switch when you turn it.. or B) The door jamb switch when it makes contact.
Or you could have a timer issue... here is a trace schematic of the entire circuit.

The glove box light and lighter also do not work? I installed a new lighter assy when I had the console apart? Could the timer be the problem?

I found the problem the timer was bad. Thank you to everybody who helped
Good deal.. I was going to message you from your last post and saw this answer so I'm glad you figured it out. One reason we made the timer is that the fail... our timer board is updated a bit from the original and ours is fused to prevent any type of melt down should one occur.
