Default Wiper switch question

1976 wiper switch. Which terminal on the switch is the 12 volt feed? I don't have original wiring so color won't help.
Thank you
Carl

I don't have a diagram for a 76, but I don't think any have 12v feed. I think the motor is always hot and the switch provides a ground (or two grounds for slow speed). I'd go to Willcox's site and look up the wiring diagram under their tech and help section.

Here you go, scroll down to the 73-82 diagram showing which contacts to ground to bench test your motor. Pins 1 and 3 go to the wiper switch and if you ground pin 3 the motor will run one speed and ground 1 and 3 it will run the other. That's what the switch in the dash does. I found out the hard way that if that switch ( and the plate it mounts to) isn't grounded, the wipers won't work. My fix was to run a jumper from the mounting plate (dash plate) that the switch is bolted to down to a good ground. If you're trying to test the switch with the case of the wiper switch not grounded, it won't work.
