Default 1979 question

Have a question, just bought a 79 last month and notice most I see have black console, mine is wood grain, was this available in 79 or added later?

The wood grain trim was not available from the factory, but it was a semi popular add on back then.

My 79 has the same interior color, with the wood grain. I think it looks cool.

Totally agree. Usually that wood grain press on bullshi+ looks horrible. In your case, I kind of like it. Keep it!

yes whoever installed it did a great job, can tell its been with the car a long time but done so well I thought it came from the factory this way, wasn't until I saw so many without it that I suspected it was not factory option. I'm new to the corvette world but have been reading everything I can to learn.

i also noticed that on your speedo, the po added km/h to your speedo dial. is your steering wheel the same colour as your dash? as i have oyster trim, but my steering wheel has a slight grey tinge.

I have to agree, usually to me the wood grain stickers look cheesy. Yours looks great and I think I'd keep it.

I just double checked, my steering wheel is the same color as the dash
