My front bar is 1 1/8" and the rear is 1/2". My original dealer invoice shows gymkana suspension. 1975 L-82 4 speed convertible. I've seen 7/16" and 9/16" and the 1/2" bar seems original to the car. What application would a 1/2" bar be for?

I have not seen anywhere that GM supplied a 1/2' bar on any C3. Might it be the 7/16 bar being measured on a twist or curve? The difference is only .06 inches.

What is the decimal diameter across a flat part of the bar?

I don't know the decimal diameter but a 7/16 open end wrench will not fit on it and a half inch is a hair too big.

Someone in the C2section told me there was a 5/8 inch bar for the rear of F40 suspension on a C2. What combination of bar sizes go with what option codes? Thanks

Also, my C2 has a 9/16 rear bar and a 9/16 open end wrench fits on it perfectly. A 7/16 open end won't go on my 1975 rear bar at all and a half inch will with very slight clearance.

I was able to scrape some crud off the bar. It is indeed a 7/16" bar.
