How do I correctly do a egr delete in my 82'? Or should I say is it recommended?

Is there a reason you want to delete it?

Lots of information here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...imination.html

If it's working properly, there's maybe not much to gain from removing it for a street engine that isn't being pushed hard. If it's not working properly, you might consider taking it off or replacing it. It's a good idea to check the condition of the gasket under it - can get little vacuum leaks there when they get old and harden up.

the egr on my 79 wouldn't fit after i installed some aftermarket valve covers, so i "deleted" it. i traced the base outline on a small piece of 1/8 aluminum plate i had laying around, cut/trimmed it, beveled the edges, and drilled the holes. i used the orginal gasket and plugged the vacuum line leading to it.

if you need to delete yours, you can do it easily enough. if your's is missing, there's a couple on ebay at stupid prices or buy new for the same price. around $50. or you can have mine for shipping costs from 05735. i don't have a way to test it, though.

I'm thinking of doing the egr delete cause I can't find a egr soleniod which I need. I'm just worried if it would effect the computer any. Does anyone know where o can't find a soleniod that's not $100 lol

I find good emission parts at pick-a-part & salvage lots. Many of the emission components cover several GM lines. Match the #'s and or configuration.

I'm in the process of finish a c3 that several other shops began and didn't finish. Previous shop left the 400 sbc outside and it ended up seizing. I replaced engine with a mildly built (crank, pistons, fuelie heads, full roller) because of the height of the valve covers (rolloer rocker clearance) I can't install the egr. You guys have just blocked it off and capped the vacuum?
