Like you I am also looking for an EGR solenoid without paying through the nose for one. Technically a solenoid is a coil of copper wire that moves an Iron core. If I can't find one I will modify mine to accept another EGR solenoid setup. Either that or I will simply block off the EGR.

I have a solenoid you need if its for a 82 or 84. I bought one a while back and I was running it in my 82. I did have to modify it for my 82 though, the guy who sold it to me said it was for a 82, but turns out it was for a 84.
I just had to take it out of its casing and put it in my casing (the 84 is turned backwards compared how it mounts up on a 82) but it DOES work.
Later on I just found a stock one for my 82 for a good deal, so I'm using that one.
