Default Car Weighs?

This might sound crazy, but where is a good place to go get my vette weighed? Just curious since I removed and changed quite a bit on it lately. A place with accurate scales?

You might try a truck weigh station on the freeway. I think I would ask first and go when there is little traffic. Anther option might be a truck stop. Or maybe a scrap metal yard. I think these are all checked and verified by the State weights and measure bureau for acuracy.

If you try any of these let us know if it works and might az well let us know what your car weighs.

Good Luck.

The above are all excellent suggestions, but this may be simpler. Take your bathroom scale and stand on it. Record your weight. Next, stand on the scale holding your car over your head and record that weight. Subtract your weight from the total.

Do you have any racers near you (road or oval, not drag racers) or shops that build or maintain race cars?

Many racers have a set of 4 individual scales, used to weigh the 4 corners of the car. You could check with the local SCCA Region. I'm sure they would know a racer with a set of scales, or the Regional may even have a set of scales.

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is only about an hour from Columbus, so there must be some road racers in your area.

I bought a pickup truck out of state and CA wanted it weighted. They had a list an one was a local quarry. Thought about taking my convertible there to see what it came too.

Google Cat scale in your area. The cost about $ 9.00 for a big truck. most likely the same for a car.

Most metal recyclers and scrapyards have scales. Take a big bag of crushed aluminum cans in your car and drive in. They'll weigh you on the way in and again on the way out to determine how much to pay you for your cans, Only kidding, most will weigh you for free.
